Synthetics and cotton currently meet much of the market for textiles, all of which have similar environmental concerns. Not only are environmental benefits achieved from growing hemp, there are also advantages for consumers with the hemp fibers themselves. Organic fabrics and garments do not include residual chemicals which have an effect on our wellbeing. A cloth of at least 50 per cent hemp can block the UV rays of the sun more than most fabrics can. Hemp fibers are more durable, more resistant to mildew and more absorbent.
Hemp textiles are extremely versatile; used in accessories, clothes, rugs, fabrics, and upholstery produce. Every object that can be made from cotton can be made from hemp, too. Its long fibers give it the strength to create a product stronger than a cotton-made product. Environmentally advantageous for hemp production
~Growth fast and robust. In any environment or agronomic framework Hemp grows really quickly.
~Does not include pesticides / herbicides. With little to no pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or any other biocide, hemp can grow.
~Hemp requires about as much ground as cotton and flax, but generates far more fiber.
~Stops weed growth. Hemp naturally suppresses weeds due to their rapid growth in the canopy. It can block out sunlight to prevent the growth of weeds.
~Improves its soil structure. Since it has long roots, hemp fills the soil with nitrogen and nutrients, which helps prevent topsoil erosion.
~Cleans green sustainable waste. Hemp clean up toxins found in the soil, a process called phytoremedy.
